ABOUT CANDACE
With over 23 years of experience in communications for school districts, Candace Ahlfinger has served as Associate Superintendent for Communications and Community Relations of Pasadena ISD, Executive Director of Communications and Public Affairs for Richardson ISD, and as Director of Public Relations and Executive Director of the Education Foundation in Waxahachie ISD. During these years, she implemented crisis management programs and led the crisis teams. In addition, she worked as volunteer coordinator for Waxahachie ISD and also served as an adjunct professor for Navarro College where she taught English, math, and business.
She is active in the Texas Schools Public Relations Association (TSPRA) where she has served as president and in numerous other positions. Candace has given many workshops, presentations, and keynote addresses to national, state, and local audiences on topics such as dealing with difficult people, communicating in crisis, customer service, safety and security issues and FISH.
She received her Bachelor’s degree from Rice University in Spanish, English, and Political Science and her M.B.A. from Texas Tech University.
Candace is married to her husband, Randy, and has two children and two grandchildren.
